1985年获湘潭大学学士学位,1995年获华东师范大学硕士学位(在职),2001年获日本鹿儿岛大学农学博士学位。2004年4月到中国科学院植物研究所工作。兼中国科学院大学岗位教授、观赏园艺学教研室主任。现任中国园艺学会理事、水生花卉分会理事长、牡丹芍药分会副理事长,中国经济林协会树莓蓝莓分会副会长,中国花卉协会荷花分会副会长、牡丹芍药分会理事,Horticultural Plant Journal副主编。在Nature、Journal of Experimental Botany、The Plant Journal、Horticulture Research、Phytochemistry、Food Chemistry等SCI期刊发表论文86篇,在中文期刊上发表论文64篇。获中国授权发明专利9件、欧盟和日本授权发明专利1件。分别获牡丹、蓝莓植物新品种权15个、1个。已指导博士后3名,培养博士18名、硕士25名,指导在读博士生6名、硕士生2名。
主要研究方向:
1. 观赏药用资源植物学
重点收集保育芍药属(牡丹和芍药)、莲属(荷花)、木本油料植物(油用牡丹、文冠果)等野生资源和特色品种资源,对其生物学特性、农艺性状、品质特性进行系统评价,构建核心种质,探讨其全株利用途径,开发利用其观赏、果用、茶用、油用、药用、香用、食用、文旅、景观提升、环境修复等多方面的价值。
2.花色花香代谢生物学
系统调查我国传统名花和重点花卉的天然色素和香气成分,进行花色花香表型评价,测定其多种生物活性,阐明花色花香形成的植物化学基础、遗传规律和分子调控机制,开发可用于花色花香花型育种的高效分子标记,开展定向杂交育种和分子育种,聚焦类黄酮、萜烯类和脂肪酸代谢生物学研究,推动天然色素、天然香气成分和不饱和脂肪酸的高值利用。
