Oryza sativa ssp. japonica var. Zhonghua 11 (ZH11) has been the subject of extensive research, primarily because of its high transformation efficiency and strong adaptability (Tie et al., 2012). However, the ZH11 genome assembly is incomplete and still contains 25 gaps (Rice Resource Center, ricerc.sicau.edu.cn; Qin et al., 2021). In this study, we used PacBio HiFi (HiFi) and Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) methods to obtain a 379.33-Mb, telomere-to-telomere (T2T) assembly of the ZH11 genome.
