    PhD (1986) Free University Brussels, Belgium (Isolation and biochemical characterization of amino acid auxotrophic mutants from haploid protoplast cultures)
    主要研究兴趣:
    1)Reverse Breeding: in short, we knocked-down recombination during meiosis and made Doubled Haploids from the spores that did not underwent recombination. This means that only combination of chromosomes took place which makes it easy to reconstruct whatever genotype (and off course phenotype), allows to make chromosome substitution lines and eventually do breeding per chromosome.
    2)New method for QTL mapping, using spores that did not undergo the second meiotic division. In fact in just one step, mapping populations can be made that resemble RIL's however they still contain residual amounts of heterozygocity. This residual heterozygocity allows to map even traits that are prone to epistatic interactions.
